Community Organising

The organisations and movements behind Communities for Future have pioneered innovative processes for community organising.

Here are some good examples.

Reimagine and rebuild your community

Transition Network is a movement of communities coming together to reimagine and rebuild our world. The Essential Guide to Doing Transition (available in 11 languages) tells you everything you need to know to start a Transition initiative in your local community and outlines the processes and actions needed to make it a success.

Learn innovative ways of community development

The CLIPS guide explains a community development model based on learning from ecovillages. It includes workshops, mentoring and trainings, as well as an online platform with resources, links, examples and tools. The guide was developed, tested and evaluated by community initiatives from nine European countries.

Transform your local economy

The REconomy Guides are designed to support groups working on local economy projects and related activities. They focus on resourcing, running events and starting new enterprises. They were produced by the REconomy project, which is part of Transition Network.

Team up with your municipality to transform your community

The Municipalities in Transition Framework offers a structured way for municipal governments to connect with local communities and respond to the great challenges of our time. The framework adopts a system wide view and its methodologies are inspired by the approach and learnings of the Transition movement.

Activate a culture of sharing in your city
